I have dealt with animals as long as I can remember. I bought my first animal, which was a female rabit, in 1954, only because I hadn`t had enough money to buy a dog. My first German shepherd named Sharek was bred in 1976. In 1990, I and Darja moved into our new house, where we built dog kennels and settled our first dogs. Our first hatch was bred in 1992. When we were considering about a name for our kennel, we both agreed it should be connected with the beautiful land where we live- Kras. The other part of the name represents a subteranean river Timav, which is the only one that crosses this land. So, when we combine these two remarkablenesses, we get »Karstimav«. Since then, we have bred some German shepherds, that strongly represent us at home and abroad.
Nowadays, we have one male and five female dogs, with which we successfully compete. Our animals have been DNA tested and all have all the documents comparable with the animals bred in their native country. My goal is to breed healthy dogs with firm character and close to their natural basics, as well as kind towards people and other animals. To top it all they should also be beautiful.
Our dogs can be seen at dog shows at home as well as abroad, where they achieve visible results.
We would like to thank all who have chosen our bred dogs and who have with their hard work by teaching the dogs, achieved that the Karstimav kennel is recognizable at home as well as abroad.
